P4 Scorched, $1599

You may have seen on my Facebook page the "Scortched" bass that I've posted photos of. This is a technique where I literally scorch the bass with fire. Not only does the bass take on a beautiful burned look, but it also helps protect more against moisture. Tonally, while it's too early to tell, this technique seems to give the bass a more open-sounding tone. Perhaps this could be because some of the resins in the wood are hardened through heating. I'm offering this prototype at a VERY LOW price of $1599.
